dance the night away in tokyo
The father of the bride is a keen social dancer so the first dance (very unusual to have a first dance at all in Japan) was with the bride.
Their wedding was in Guam so this was just a get together with friends and family but the location continued the tropical island theme and the night was a lot of fun.
akira and nami //Do you realize??
Well there is always a bit of excitement when a couple comes to me to film their wedding – but this time even more so when Akira and Nami told me that they were big Flaming Lips fans. Bit of a Lips fan myself so was very happy that the song that had chosen for their short movie was The Flaming Lips’s ‘Do you realize??’.
Must have listened to it at least 20 times, probably more, while editing their film and I realized that this line, “Do you realize that you have the most beautiful face?” from the song sums up a lot of my thoughts behind the kind of wedding films I make. Everyone has the most beautiful face, the most beautiful expression, the most beautiful angle that is uniquely that person’s – just let me show you.
Wedding and reception filmed at the T.Y. Harbor Brewery in Tokyo on the Canon 5D Mark II.
civil wedding at a restaurant
A great day. In fact, the groom was so overcome with it all that he suprised even himself by barely be able to get through his speech at the end for his tears.
Music is by one of the couples’s favourite band, Ruri. Ruri played a couple of songs during the reception, giving it a great atmosphere.
All filmed on the Canon 5D Mark II.
