acorn land
short promo piece I made for a children’s outdoor recreation center in Shikoku, Japan. Was originally there to film a day-long event but we decided to also make something that could be used to promote the location. all made from shots taken at a real, unscripted event.

the people of christchurch, new zealand
I randomly asked people gathered in the public square, in front of the Christchurch Cathedral, now destroyed by the christchurch earthquakes of 2011, if I could film them. just them, not saying anything, just being there. inspired by Philip Bloom’s people series.
turned out that all were either immigrants or visitors to new zealand.
